Sam the man as Urquhart does the trick for Clach
Clachnacuddin and Fort William met in the Highland League for the first time since the tragic death of Simon Shields, a player who made his name at the Fort before making the switch to his local club.
In some ways it was fitting that a youngster who too shone at Claggan alongside Shields before moving to the Lilywhites was to light up this match with a hat trick. It took Sam Urquhart barely five minutes to net against his former club, scoring from close range.
In the 20th minute that man Urquhart was at it again, this time positioning himself at the back post and nodding home an Allan Pollock corner to give Clach a two goal cushion with less than a quarter of the game gone.
Urquhart went close to grabbing a quickfire hat trick when his left foot shot just missed the post on the half hour. Scott Graham beat two players before hitting an effort hat struck the bar on the 40th minute and from the corner that followed that effort Michael Finnis saw his header cleared off the goal line.
Just before the break a long ball from Brian Macleod to Allan Pollock was blocked by the feet of the keeper but it was inevitable that Clach were going to add to their tally in the second half.

Goal number three saw Scott Graham and Allan Pollock play a one two that saw the former lay the ball across to Chris Ross who placed the ball into the back of the net despite the keeper getting a hand on the ball.
Just after the hour mark Sam Urquhart completed his hat trick when a ball through the middle saw him run clear before placing the shot past the keeper. Scott Graham was next to get in on the act with his 25 yard left footed free kick beating trialist goalkeeper Macleod.
Twelve minutes from time Paul Brindle marked his appearance from the bench with the sixth and final goal of the night. He attacked a high looping ball to the back post and managed to turn it over the line as the visiting defence failed to react.
