CLACHNACUDDIN 125th Anniversary GALA BALL
What a fantastic evenings entertainment we had on Friday night!
I hope that all of you who were there enjoyed the evenings entertainment as much as I did.
A big thank you to all of you who contributed to the various raffles and auctions that were taking place and for joining in the dancing to make it a great night.
Darren MacKintosh of Highland Eventz deserves a big thank you for the excellent presentation of the whole event……from the stirring start from the young pipers of the City of Inverness Youth Pipe Band through the countdown and explosive start to the evening (which had a few people checking their undies!!) all the way to the end of the night with the fantastic sounds from the band Nightshift and TheBigNite Horns. Darren was ably supported by the staff of HCVF in Inverness in particular Jim and David Eglington who provided the stage equipment and sound systems. In addition they had a rolling presentation of Clach photos and film going on the big screen all night.
John Murphy gave us a rousing version of “The Sons of Clachnacuddin”, the song he wrote for the club and I know from speaking to John that he thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
One thing that we had not planned for was Billy Nelson getting up and giving us a rendition of “Westering Home to the Ferry”……..a song Billy wrote many years ago and it is part of the folklore of the Ferry area of Inverness. Billy now well in to his 70’s got a standing ovation at the end….well done Billy.
Bill McAllister was our MC for the evening and he gave us an excellent potted history of the 125 years of Clachnacuddin….still the team that has won the most Highland League Championships!! Bill then had everyone in raptures with his quick fire wit and several members of the audience were targeted by him…..I thought I got off lightly this time!!
The staff and management of the Drumossie did their usual excellent service and we thank them also.
If you want to have a look at some of the photos from the night you can follow this link to the Clachnacuddin website where several have been uploaded
